BYD Battery-Box Premium LVS article 12940054-00 is the normal European Power Distribution Unit (PDU) plus the matching base for one Premium LVS low-voltage battery tower. It forms the top and bottom of the stack and provides the tower connection area. It stores no energy.

PDU and base only — not the external BMU

The private source calls the item a PDU/BMS, but BYD documentation distinguishes the tower PDU from the separately required Premium LV BMU-IP55. This offer contains the normal European PDU and base. It is not the Australian PDU variant with an air switch, and it does not contain an LVS battery module, external BMU-IP55, inverter, project protection, design, installation or commissioning.

Role in an LVS tower

  • One PDU/base set is used for each compatible LVS tower.
  • The normal PDU sits above the battery modules; the base supports the stack below.
  • The documented connection area includes data IN and OUT/termination, protective earth, DC positive and DC negative glands.
  • BYD specifies one to six LVS modules in a single tower. In parallel operation, each tower is limited to one to four modules and up to sixteen towers may be connected.

The permitted number of modules and towers depends on inverter model, phase arrangement, on-grid or backup duty and the prescribed BMU, BMS and inverter firmware. The current BYD minimum-configuration list controls the final design; an apparent physical fit does not establish electrical compatibility.

Scope and installation control

The official operating-manual drawing shows the normal PDU, the separate Australian alternative, the base and the associated packaged mounting/interface pieces. Before accepting an order, WodaSign™ confirms the physical 12940054-00 label, normal European PDU variant, sealed package contents, serial number, manufacture date, lead time and remaining manufacturer warranty. Project-specific DC conductors, protected-earth conductor, shielded data cable, wall fixings and any other material required by the site are selected separately.

The system is safety-critical high-current DC equipment. A qualified installer must establish the module count, compatible inverter and firmware, conductor sizing, protection, polarity, grounding, wall restraint and commissioning procedure from the complete current documentation.
