BYD Battery-Box Premium LVS article 12940053-00 is one 4 kWh low-voltage lithium iron phosphate battery module for the modular Premium LVS platform. The module uses cobalt-free LiFePO4 chemistry, has a nominal voltage of 51.2 V and weighs 45 kg.

One module, not a complete LVS 4.0 battery system

This item contains one LVS battery module only. A working tower additionally needs the matching LVS PDU and base, a separate external Premium LV BMU-IP55, an approved inverter, project-specific DC and communication cabling, electrical protection and professional commissioning. Do not compare the module-only article directly with complete LVS 4.0 starter sets.

For a complete one-module LVS 4.0 system, the current datasheet gives a 40–57.6 V operating range, 65 A maximum continuous output current, 90 A for 5 seconds, dimensions of 528 x 650 x 298 mm and total system weight of 64 kg. These figures include the required system components and must not be treated as dimensions or weight of this module alone. The assembled compatible system is specified with IP55 protection, CAN communication, at least 95% round-trip efficiency and on-grid, backup or off-grid applications.

Scalability and compatibility

One tower can contain one to six LVS modules. Parallel operation permits one to four modules per tower and up to sixteen towers, for a maximum of sixty-four modules or 256 kWh. LVS 20.0 and LVS 24.0 are single-tower configurations. Final module count, current, inverter model, firmware and expansion method must follow the current BYD minimum-configuration list; new modules are commissioned with the prescribed state-of-charge and shutdown procedure.
