SEPLOS MASON-280L-N DIY – vertical 48 V battery kit

Important: battery cells are not included. This is not a ready-made 14.3 kWh or 16 kWh storage battery. Final capacity, energy, weight, electrical limits and cycle life depend on the sixteen cells selected and installed by the customer. The kit is intended for experienced installers and qualified persons building a 16S LiFePO4 battery in a prepared metal enclosure with electronics and mechanical parts.

Kit contents

• 80 V / 400 A fuse with holder,
• PCB assemblies, power terminals, wiring, busbars, insulation and fasteners supplied with the kit.

LiFePO4 cells are not supplied. Check the package against the current SEPLOS packing list and installation manual before assembly.

Compatible cells and resulting energy

Available information lists the enclosure for sixteen prismatic cells such as GF/LISHEN/EVE 280 Ah, EVE 304 Ah and EVE MB31 314 Ah. The installer must verify exact body dimensions, terminal position and terminal spacing before buying cells. Listed examples include bodies of approximately 72 × 174 × 200–204 mm and terminal spacing of 89 or 123 mm depending on type. The store does not guarantee fit from a marketing capacity label alone.

Sixteen identical cells produce a nominal system of approximately 51.2 V. Nominal energy is calculated from the chosen cell capacity; the empty kit itself has no kWh capacity. Cells must be the same type, condition and capacity and must be properly prepared for use in one series string.

Inverter compatibility

CAN and RS485 are physical interfaces only. Operation with a particular inverter depends on supported battery protocol, firmware, settings and wiring. Give us the exact inverter manufacturer and model before ordering and we will check the available documentation. Closed-loop BMS-to-inverter communication cannot be promised without confirmation.

Assembly and commissioning

1. Check the model, dimensions, condition, polarity and matching of all sixteen cells.
2. Follow the current SEPLOS instructions for insulation, mechanical compression, busbar sequence and BMS connection.
3. Use a calibrated torque tool and the terminal torque specified by the cell manufacturer; no universal value is invented here.
4. Before connecting power conductors, verify protection, isolation, cable cross-section, grounding and correct polarity.
5. Perform initial charging and balancing according to the selected cells and BMS, then verify every cell reading, protection function, balancing operation and communication.

Safety

Battery assembly involves extremely high short-circuit currents. Wrong connection order, a loose joint, reversed polarity, inadequate insulation or mismatched cells can cause fire, injury or equipment destruction. The kit must not be assembled by an unqualified person. Never bypass the BMS or fuse and never work on an energised assembly. The IP20 enclosure belongs in a dry indoor environment.

Availability and shipping

This model is listed as made to order, with an indicative lead time of 8–12 weeks. The 35 kg figure is the weight of the kit without cells and is used for store shipping. The assembled battery will be considerably heavier; do not use the empty-kit figure to ship a completed battery.

Warranty and documents

The attached official SEPLOS Warranty Agreement 2026 provides, for products within its scope, five years of free warranty and parts during years 5–10 while the buyer pays freight, service and other costs. Because this item is a DIY kit without cells, component coverage and qualified-assembly conditions must be assessed from the order and complete agreement. We do not describe it as a fully free ten-year warranty on a customer-assembled battery.

The attached MASON-280L specification describes a reference complete battery pack and is included only as model-family documentation. Figures for a complete 280Ah pack must not be confused with the properties of this empty DIY kit.
